Women in Wikipedia

Wikipedia holds +1.5 millions of biographies, of which less than 20% are about women. This project aims to tackle the digital gender gap through a mix of translation and content creation.

I developed this initiative as a Cultural Affairs Fellow at the Embassy of Spain in Egypt to promote the creation of new content about Egyptian and Spanish women artists in Wikipedia and social media, leading an online project in cooperation with more than 90 participants from 6 Egyptian universities and the Cervantes Institute in Cairo featured in national media outlets.
